Welcome to 30th Purley

As-Salamu Alaikum,

We are writing to share critical pieces of information relating to the developing Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.

The Prime Minister has said that everyone in the UK should now avoid 'non-essential travel and contact' with others.

Suspension of Face-to-Face Activities
Given this guidance, all face-to-face Scout meetings, activities and events must be suspended from Tuesday, 17 March 2020. This suspension applies to young people and adults, and will be until further notice.

We must continue to respond to the developing situation in an appropriate way. We will continue to follow official guidance. The safety of everyone involved in Scouts, both young people and adults, is our number one priority. That is always at the heart of our decision making.

Government Advice
The Government's Coronavirus (COVID-19) webpage (https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus) is frequently updated as things develop, so please check it regularly.

Hike to The Moon

We took part in “The Great Indoors Hike to the Moon” as a Scout group to raise money for Children in Need / Comic Relief as part of The Big Night In and have so far raised nearly £800 - Alhamdulillah.  All donations go to the vulnerable and those who are affected by COVID-19.  Here is a link to our donation page if you would like to contribute:

Scouting at Home
We are planning to share activities for young people to do at home to work towards their badges. We will be communicating more about this soon, Insh'Allah.

Poster Competition

We launched a group wide competition for the Scouts to create posters (A4 portrait size) helping people to do the right thing to keep themselves healthy and stop the spread of COVID-19 / Coronavirus.  We will showcase the amazing designs on our website as you can see a superb example of the talent of our Scouts on the right - Alhamdulillah.

We thank everyone for their patience and understanding during this very difficult and testing time.

Jazak Allah Khayr,

Management @ 30th Purley

Whether you have been with us from the start or are have just joined, you will find lots of useful information about the Scout group on this website.

30th Purley Masjid Scout Group started on Sunday 16th September 2018 and we are into our second year as a Scout Group.  Our aim is to bring a whole new Scouting opportunity for young people in the area.  The group offers Scouting within an Islamic environment, although children from all faiths are very welcome to join.  We are supported by the Muslim Scouting Fellowship (MSF).

Scouting actively engages and supports young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society.  We are proud to be supporting the vision for Scouting from The Scout Association (TSA)- #SkillsForLife.
